Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Detail Portal collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use detailportal.com, the Detail Portal dashboard, and the booking pages Detail Portal hosts for detailing businesses. It includes a dedicated section on the Google user data Detail Portal accesses when a business connects Google Calendar.
Who we are
Detail Portal (“Detail Portal,” “we,” “us”) provides online booking software for mobile auto-detailing businesses. Two groups of people use Detail Portal:
- Business owners who create a Detail Portal account to run a booking page for their detailing business.
- Their customers, who book appointments on a business’s Detail Portal booking page.
When a customer books with a detailing business, that business decides how it uses the customer’s booking details. Detail Portal stores and processes those details to provide the booking service to the business.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; we do not store your password in plain text.
Business information
To build your booking page we collect the details you enter, including your business name, city or service area, business phone number, booking page address, logo, accent color and theme, services and add-ons with their prices and durations, vehicle types, business hours, booking settings (such as time zone, booking interval, notice period, and booking window), and payment settings. Your booking page, including your business name, logo, services, and prices, is public so customers can book with you. Uploaded logos are stored at publicly accessible web addresses.
Customer booking information
When a customer books an appointment, we collect the information entered on the booking page: first name, phone number, email address, service address and address type, vehicle type, year, make, and model, notes, the selected service and add-ons, the appointment date and time, and the price. This information is made available to the business the customer booked with.
Billing and payment information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe’s checkout page; Detail Portal does not receive or store your full card number. We store your plan, subscription status, billing period dates, and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers.
If a business connects a Stripe account to accept payments from its customers, Stripe collects the information it needs to set up that account. Detail Portal stores the connected account identifier and its status (for example, whether charges and payouts are enabled), and, for bookings paid online, the payment status, amounts, and Stripe payment references.
Calendar connection information
If a business owner connects Google Calendar, we store the Google OAuth credentials needed to keep the connection working, the selected calendar’s identifier and name, and the identifiers of calendar events Detail Portal creates. See Google user data for details.
Technical information
When you use Detail Portal, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages or endpoints requested, and error details. We use cookies that are necessary for sign-in and security; see Cookies and technical data.
Demo pages
We sometimes build sample booking pages for detailing businesses that are considering Detail Portal. These use business details such as the business name, city, phone number, and logo.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and operate your account, dashboard, and public booking page;
- show available appointment times based on business hours, booking settings, and existing Detail Portal bookings, and accept and store bookings;
- if a business owner connects Google Calendar, also block times that are busy on their selected calendar and add new bookings to it;
- process subscriptions and, where a business enables it, customer payments through Stripe;
- provide support and respond to your requests;
- keep Detail Portal secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Google user data
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Detail Portal works as a standalone scheduling and booking calendar without it: customers can still book appointments, availability is based on the business’s hours and existing Detail Portal bookings, and appointments are stored and managed in Detail Portal. When a business owner connects Google Calendar, Detail Portal additionally uses busy times on the selected Google Calendar to prevent conflicts and adds new Detail Portal appointments to that calendar.
A business owner can connect Google Calendar from the Calendar page of the Detail Portal dashboard, which sends them to Google to review and approve access. This section explains exactly what Detail Portal does with that access. If Google Calendar is not connected, Detail Portal does not access any Google user data.
What Google data Detail Portal accesses
Detail Portal requests three Google Calendar permissions (OAuth scopes), and uses each only as described:
| Permission | What Detail Portal accesses |
|---|---|
See your list of calendarscalendar.calendarlist.readonly | The names and identifiers of your calendars, which one is your primary calendar, and whether you can add events to each. This lets you choose which calendar Detail Portal uses. We store the chosen calendar’s identifier and name. |
See your free/busy availabilitycalendar.freebusy | The start and end times of busy periods on your selected calendar for the days customers are viewing. Free/busy information does not include event titles, descriptions, or attendees. Busy times are used to hide unavailable appointment times and are not stored. |
View and edit events on your calendarscalendar.events | Used to create an appointment event on your selected calendar when a customer books with you. The event contains the booking details: service, customer first name, phone number, email address, service address, vehicle, add-ons, total price, notes, and the Detail Portal booking ID. We store the identifier Google assigns to each event we create. |
Detail Portal does not read the titles, descriptions, attendees, or other contents of events in your calendars, and it does not change or delete events it did not create. Detail Portal does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, or any Google service other than Google Calendar.
How Google data is used
Google Calendar data is used only to provide scheduling features you can see and control in Detail Portal:
- letting you choose which Google Calendar Detail Portal uses;
- preventing customers from booking times when your selected calendar is busy, in addition to Detail Portal’s own availability rules;
- adding each new Detail Portal appointment to your selected calendar; and
- keeping your booking page’s availability consistent with your selected calendar.
If Detail Portal adds the ability to reschedule or cancel appointments, it will use this same access only to update or remove the calendar events Detail Portal created for those appointments, and we will update this policy.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. People at Detail Portal do not read your Google Calendar data unless you ask us to for support, it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or it is required by law.
How Google data is stored
Google OAuth credentials (access and refresh tokens) are stored server-side in Detail Portal’s database, hosted by Supabase, in a table that only Detail Portal’s server code can read. They are never sent to web browsers or included in booking pages. They are used only to maintain your Google Calendar connection: Detail Portal’s servers use them to check busy times, list your calendars, and add booking events, and to obtain a fresh access token when the current one expires. Data travels between your browser, Detail Portal, and Google over encrypted HTTPS connections.
How Google data is shared
We do not sell Google user data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. Google user data is handled only:
- by the service providers that operate Detail Portal on our behalf: Supabase, which hosts the database where tokens, the selected calendar, and event identifiers are stored, and Vercel, which runs the servers that communicate with Google;
- by Google itself, as necessary to provide the Calendar integration, since busy times are read from and booking events are written to your Google Calendar; and
- when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or Detail Portal.
Limited Use
Detail Portal’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting Google Calendar
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the Calendar page in your dashboard. When you disconnect, Detail Portal immediately deletes the stored Google OAuth credentials and your calendar selection from its database and stops accessing your Google Calendar. Your booking page keeps accepting bookings based on your business hours and existing Detail Portal bookings, and your appointments remain in Detail Portal. Events Detail Portal already added remain in your Google Calendar until you delete them, and your Detail Portal booking records keep the identifiers of those events.
You can also remove Detail Portal’s access directly from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting from the dashboard removes our stored credentials; removing access in your Google Account revokes the permission with Google itself. For a complete disconnect, do both.
Data retention and deletion
- Account, business, and booking data is kept while your account exists. Canceling your subscription does not delete this data, so you can return without rebuilding your setup.
- Google Calendar credentials are deleted as soon as you disconnect Google Calendar, or when your connection data is deleted with your account.
- Billing records may be kept after account deletion where needed for tax, accounting, or legal purposes. Stripe keeps its own records under its policies.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
Detail Portal does not yet offer self-service account deletion. To delete your account and associated data, email support@detailportal.com from the email address on your account. We will verify the request, delete or de-identify your account, business, booking, and calendar connection data, and confirm when it is done, except for information we must keep for legal reasons.
Your choices
- Disconnect Google Calendar from the Calendar page of your dashboard to stop future access and delete stored credentials, and remove access in your Google Account if you wish.
- Cancel your subscription from the Billing page of your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- Update your information such as business details, services, and hours from your dashboard.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your information by emailing support@detailportal.com.
If you booked an appointment with a detailing business, contact that business about your booking. You can also contact us, and we will help or pass your request to the business.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls that keep sensitive records such as Google OAuth credentials readable only by server-side code, and payment processing through Stripe so card numbers never reach our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@detailportal.com.
Children
Detail Portal is a business tool intended for people 18 and older operating a business. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support@detailportal.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Detail Portal changes. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, including any change to how we use Google user data, we will notify account holders by email or through Detail Portal before the change takes effect.
